The art exhibition of the Festival international du Zouk de la Guadeloupe (Guadeloupe international Zouk Festival) starts on Monday (instead of Saturday, July 24) due to the worsening of the health situation in the archipelago. This year, the event will take place on 2 sites : the Rémi Nainsouta Cultural Centre in Pointe-à-Pitre and the Sainte-Anne Cultural Centre.
After a shorter 13th edition last year due to the Covid-19 epidemic, the Festival international du Zouk de la Guadeloupe (FIZ Guadeloupe) is back in force this year ; it is scheduled from July 26 to August 31 and will be partly broadcast on the Spektak platform.
Among the various events, there will be the long-awaited art exhibition which always attracts many professional and amateur artists from several disciplines (painting, sculpting, photography and even poetry). There will be 19.
This year, two venues will host the exhibition titled “Résilience” (Resilience) on different dates: the Centre culturel Rémi Nainsouta in Pointe-à-Pitre, from July 26 (instead of 24) to 31 and the Centre culturel de Sainte-Anne, from August 7 to 15.
The painters will be : Nicole Ageneau, Patricia Barchant, Renée Hardial, Lucien Léogane, Patricia Martial, Patricia Lollia, Rose-Marie Pascotto, Patrice Régis and Élisabeth Tharsis-Mugnier.
The registered sculptors are : Jacky Poulier (also “guest of honour” of the exposition), Pierre Bonneau, Marcella Mattone, Christelle Jeanlys, Annie Sigiscar, Katia Gonzalez, Roselyne Bandou and Nicole Favières-Bourguignon.
Concerning photography, there will be Jacques Bernard. In addition to plastic arts, the organizers have included another art : poetry. Fabienne Phémius will be the only representative of this literary discipline.
The FIZ art exhibition will also be an opportunity for the public to discover the arts of fire thanks to the workshops of the association “Té et Difé”.
