If you are an actor, a screenwriter, a director or a producer and you want to live a unique experience in international cinema, you don’t have to go to Europe or the United States, you can live it at the Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF), one of the best Caribbean film meetings.
The 18th edition of this great event of the 7th art will take place from December 1 to 10, 2022. The deadlines to submit your films are now known : July 31, 2022 (regular), August 31, 2022 (late) and September 20, 2022 (final). The date of notification of the films selected by the jury is October 7.
Among the rules and regulations for eligibility : films must not have been screened in The Bahamas or streamed in the Caribbean online prior to BIFF ; non-English-language films must be subtitled in English ; films Submitted will not receive screening fees for showcasing films ; films selected will be placed in the appropriate category by BIFF ; selected films will be notified via email of the selection results approximately six weeks before the Festival.
BIFF, founded in 2004 by actress Leslie Vanderpool, has already celebrated more than 80 Bahamian films and hundreds of films from around the world. It has already welcomed many Hollywood stars such as : Johnny Depp, Roger Corman, Sir Sean Connery, Heather Graham, Danny Glover, Daryl Hannah, Nicholas Cage, Laurence Fishburne, Lenny Kravitz, Grace Jones, Sydney T. Poitier etc.
In 2015 and 2018, this Caribbean festival was listed among the 25 coolest film festivals in the world by MovieMaker magazine.
