We regret to announce the death of King Vaval which occurred on Ash Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Nobody knows exactly how the King of all carnival lovers in Guadeloupe and Martinique died. His body was cremated that same Wednesday in front of a huge crowd come to say goodbye to him. Previously, carnival lovers who wore the colors of mourning (black, white, purple) organized a last parade in the streets to thank him for these six weeks of joy and celebration (from January 1 to February 14) he brought in their life.
King Vaval leaves in great sorrow his many wives and mistresses, his many children brought up in love of carnival and his many friends, relatives and allies. Before he died, King Vaval promised that he will return in 2019 for a longer and hotter carnival. The carnival lovers are waiting for him impatiently…
