A film competition, a screenplay competition and a village of exhibitors are part of the Cinévision Sud Film Festival programme.
One of the major events of the 7th art in Guadeloupe is the Cinévision Sud Film Festival. The organizing association, Mission Cinéma Caraïbe, is actively working on the programme that will be offered to the public.
Indeed, from January 5, 2022 to December 5, 2022, filmmakers are invited to submit their films online. The competition will feature films from the French West Indies-Guiana, the French Overseas Territories, the Greater Caribbean and French-speaking Africa. “The main objective is to offer to a wide audience works presenting rich stories and experiences from the above-mentioned countries. A specific section is reserved for young talents, passionate about cinema, through their school film productions”, says MCC on its website. Participants will compete in five categories (feature films, short fiction, short documentaries, school films, and defi2mobilfilm).
In addition, the “Writing Marathon” which aims to bring out young authors in Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guiana is open until January 14, 2023. This is a short film script competition reserved for young people aged 16 to 25. Participants are free to choose their theme. A jury composed of film professionals will award the prize for the best script to the marathon winner. Note that the “Short Film Writing Marathon” is competitive and competes for the Colibri d’Or prize awarded by the Jury in the “short film” category.
The association has also decided to offer to exhibitors presenting services and/or products preferably Creole or African, a free stand (with chairs and tables) on January 17, 2023 during the professional meetings that will take place at Le Lamentin Media Library. A pre-selection of candidates is organized until December 2. An online form is available on the website www.mcinecaraibe.com. The selected person will have the opportunity to appear on the communication media (website, social networks and others) of Mission Cinéma Caraïbe.
In addition, the association is looking for volunteers for a collaboration between January 10 and 20, 2023. The application deadline is January 5, 2023.
