For his great career and for being a cultural promoter of the Dominican identity through music in different countries, DJ Joe “El Catador”, received an award from the General Consulate of the Dominican Republic in Barcelona, from its representative Antonio Gomez, Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Barcelona.
Antonio Joel Tapia Peralta, DJ Joe’s real name, received this recognition along with salsero Yiyo Sarante, both touring Europe.

“The Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in Barcelona, Spain, recognizes Antonio Joel Tapia Peralta, better known as DJ Joe El Catador, for his outstanding career in the dissemination and promotion of Dominican musical rhythms on international stages. His work as a DJ and cultural promoter was instrumental in projecting the talent of the Dominican Republic, contributing to the strengthening of our identity and the pride of the Dominican community abroad”, said Antonio Gómez.

For his part, DJ Joe thanked the embassy for highlighting his contributions to Dominican music through his international tours, as well as his iconic mixes that have transcended borders thanks to digital platforms, reaching not only the Dominican diaspora, but also millions of foreigners who consume his work.
Madrid, Orense, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Girona, Terrassa, Palma de Mallorca (Spain), Geneva, Zurich (Switzerland), Florence (Italy), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Germany are some of the venues where DJ Joe will perform on this European tour.
