The Consulate General of the Dominican Republic in New York, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Directorate Abroad, are honored to invite the New York public, the Dominican community residing in this city and photography lovers, to the opening of the photographic exhibition “Caras Conocidas” (Familiar Faces). This exceptional exhibition will capture the essence of prominent figures through the expert lens of renowned photographer and audiovisual producer Misael Rincón.
In its fourth edition, the “Caras Conocidas” exhibition invites the Dominican community living in this city, as well as photography enthusiasts, to discover 80 portraits that immortalize internationally renowned figures, including former President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, President Biden, Latin American and European leaders, as well as prominent Dominican and foreign athletes and artists.
The opening will take place on August 31 at 6:00 pm at the Center for Dominican Culture Abroad, located at 2406-2410 Amsterdam Avenue, New York. The exhibition will be open to the general public from September 1, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, so that all interested people can enjoy this unique visual experience.
About the exhibitor: Misael Rincón
Misael Rincón is a photographer and audiovisual producer with over 18 years of experience in the industry. Graduated in cinematography from the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD), he has perfected his skills through workshops and seminars in the United States and has worked in various Dominican media.
His work has been widely recognized internationally
In 2012, CNN honored him, along with five other individuals, among one million people, for his outstanding work as a citizen reporter. In addition, his photographs have been selected as “Photo of the Day” on CNN.com, and some of them have been part of photoreports that compete with globally renowned photographers. Rincón has left his mark in various television and governmental projects, including as head of photography and audiovisual for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic and Official and State Photographer of the Chancellor of the Republic. He is currently Audiovisual Advisor to the Constitutional Court of the Dominican Republic.
