The versatility of Dominican singer-songwriter Cristian Allexis has led him to navigate with his pen, through ballad, bachata, bolero, merengue, fusón, until he recently anchored himself in Son with the song “Dos razones” (Two reasons).
The music of this song focuses on Son and Chachachá, tropical rhythms of Cuban origin, with many nuances and colors that evoke past times between the 50’s and 60’s, with modern touches of keyboards and electric guitar to connect with a more contemporary audience.
The lyrics take place in 2021 and tell in a simple and funny way about a relationship that ends because of jealousy and sense of possession.
The song, written by the artist himself under the production and arrangements of Aníbal Coronado, is a tribute to Son that is also visualized in the video premiered in a special meeting of Cristian with his fans.
“This is an audiovisual production in which we wanted to highlight the Caribbean essence that we all carry within us through Son: its cadence, its color and its flamboyance, aspects that unite us with our Antillean brothers and that complement the song in an extraordinary way”, explained the singer.
The video, created by Derek Jazmín (El lente divido), was shot in the heart of the Colonial Zone, specifically in the emblematic entertainment center El Sartén, a place that for more than three decades has been receiving Creoles and tourists who seek to nourish their ears with good Caribbean music.
The audiovisual film, counted with the participation of veteran Son dancers who imbued the magic of this genre to the video available in the main digital platforms.
