In spite of the difficult year that the world has gone through due to the situation caused by the pandemic, the merenguero Eddy Herrera has many reasons to thank God. On a professional level, he closed a 2020 that he defines as “spectacular”, when he received a tribute at the fifth edition of the Heat Awards, for his 30-year career and representing the merengue genre on foreign beaches.
At this award ceremony, which was held at Playa Juanillo Cap Cana, “El galán del merengue” also has received the award for “Best Tropical Artist”, and had a great “performance” on the Heat stage, being honoured by Gabriel Pagan, Greeicy and Mike Bahía.
This celebration is added to the recent Latin Grammy award in the category “Best Tropical Merengue-Bachata Album”, which the artist won for his album “Eddy Herrera Ahora”. Another great success this year was his virtual concert “Eddy Herrera Reloaded”, under the production of René Brea, which had an audience of more than 20,000 people.
“Although this year was as we all know, for me at the level of artistic experiences it was spectacular. Last October I won a @latingrammys and tonight @lospremiosheat distinguished me with the award for “Best Tropical Artist” and recognition for my 30-year uninterrupted career. To all my family, my orchestra, technical team, my company, promoters and all Latin America thank you for so many years of unconditional support. To all the media of the world, especially my Dominican Republic”, the singer-songwriter said.
