Dominican Grupo Extra has been able to savor success of its songs in the European market, in countries such as Italy, Switzerland, France or Poland, a significance that also reaches other places in Latin America and the United States.
With its considerable achievements materialized over a career spanning more than ten years and made up of very talented young people, the band is not satisfied with this and aspires to do the same in the Dominican Republic, which it considers its natural market.
Motivated, with a strong discography produced during those years of career in the international market, Grupo Extra recently settled in the country to work its career from here and continue projecting itself to the world.
Flag bearer of merengue and bachata – one of its most recent hits of this last genre is precisely “A través del vaso” – the band is already working here with businessman Fidel Pérez, who has shaped the band since its inception and businessman Joel Henríquez, as part of the new team that has been designed to achieve its new objectives.
For the moment, Joel Henríquez has been structuring a strategic program to position Grupo Extra in the Dominican market, with a promotion plan for radio and digital platforms that, according to him, can work quite well to promote its songs in this competitive market.
While all this is getting ready, on April 10, Grupo Extra will travel to the United States to participate in the Chicago Bachata Festival, from where they will move to other States that are waiting for its performances, such as The Salsa Room from Washington DC and the well-known establishment Conga Room, owned by actress and singer Jennifer López. Because of the Covid-19 epidemic, these events will surely be cancelled or postponed.
Grupo Extra also has songs with Pitbull, Akon, Juan Magan, Nicky Jam, Alex Sensation and Daniel Santacruz.
