This Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 7:30 pm EST, reggae fans will join Jamaica’s Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, Babsy Grange, to attend the concert that will close Reggae Month 2022.
Reggae On The Pier, is produced by VP Records in collaboration with the ministry and features a host of stars of this Caribbean musical genre namely Beres Hammond, Marcia Griffiths, Derrick Morgan, Richie Spice, Christopher Martin, Romain Virgo and Tarrus Riley.
The event will kick off with a special DJ session with legendary producer and soundsystem champion King Jammy, streaming live from his Waterhouse studios.
When asked about the concert and the collaboration with top artists, the event’s musical director, world-renowned saxophonist and producer Dean Fraser, said : “Music is my job and I make sure it is presented at its highest level. All artists are excellent performers and it is my pleasure to work alongside them to make our music the great music that it is”. All performers will be backed by Fraser’s Black Soil Band.

In Jamaica, guests will gather at the Pegasus Hotel (main ballroom) to watch the concert which will be broadcast on screens and the evening will be hosted by comedian Dutty Berry.
Jamaicans in the southern US diaspora will be able to join the Consul General, Oliver Mair, from 7:00-10:00 pm. After the concert, these guests will dance and sing the hits of their icons. Jamaican actor and comedian better known as “Julie Mango” will co-host the event alongside the Consul General.
