Yelitza Lora returns to the stage with the monologue “Los hombres de mi vida”(The men in my life), a play that, besides marking her return to the stage, will expose her more thoughtful side.
The one-woman show the television presenter and actress wrote and will play, will be presented at Chao Café Teatro on May 3, 4 and 5 in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).
“It is based on personal experiences, but I know that every woman who has been a victim of machismo, mistreatment, who has felt displaced in society, will identify with these stories”, said Lora interviewed in the programme “Divertido con Jochy” (Funny with Jochy).
So she explained the experiences she will talk about in “Los hombres de mi vida” portraying Maria Nicotina, a character in her latest attempt to stop smoking, tells the stories of men who became her great loves.
This work was created, as explained Yelitza, after her last marriage attempt, at which time she decided to do a retrospective on these experiences that marked her. “It starts with the first love of every girl, her father, the influence of my older brother and the two who follow”, she explained, and in addition tothem there is, of course, the most important of all, her son.
The dramaturgy of this monologue, which will also show the artist’s concerns about gender violence, increasingly present in our society, was made by Isen Ravelo and directed by Ramón Santana.
