Kariculture celebrates its 8th years of existence on Saturday, September 14, 2024. We would have liked to celebrate this anniversary in style, but under the circumstances, we will remain in total austerity as in previous years.
These eight years represent eight years of fierce struggle to keep alive the first trilingual Caribbean cultural webmagazine, founded by a Guadeloupean with a degree in Journalism, with the aim of providing a new offering to Guadeloupean and Caribbean readers.
The battle is hard because, on the other side, there are “big” media outlets that are supported by our major local authorities led by Guadeloupeans, the very people who want us to go on an adventure with them, blindfolded, for a change in the political status of our archipelago…
So many absurd and scandalous things in the press sector, in advertising, in the subsidies granted by our major local authorities to certain media in Guadeloupe, have already been denounced. Everything has already been said.
Thanks to all the artists and cultural actors of the Caribbean, thanks to the artists of Guadeloupe who are not afraid of being “boycotted” by some “big” local media in search of exclusivity on such a small territory as Guadeloupe, thanks to the Caribbean journalists, Thanks to my family and friends…
Happy birthday, kariculture.net!
