Under the direction of Freddy Graph, Dominican salsa singer Alexamil presents the video for the single “Amarte a ti”, a song that will be part of his first musical production “De aquí pa’ llá”.
With the audiovisual, filmed in Santo Domingo, Alexis Miguel García de la Cruz, real name of the salsero, wanted to convey a powerful message about the stereotypes that affect women today.
“We wanted to break with the stereotypes of discrimination that the system applies to women today. Women are going through a difficult period that affects their safety and leads them to undergo life-threatening procedures to find the perfect body. That’s why in this video we wanted to highlight the natural beauty of woman who loves and accepts herself, just as she is”, explained the singer.
Alexamil also pointed out that in general, artists always look for “perfect” women for their videos, and that should also change a little bit.
Currently, the singer is putting the finishing touches on his album, which will include 10 tracks, five of which adaptations and the rest will be unreleased songs written by himself.
