After 29 successful performances, “Desde el mismo vientre”, one of the most important plays of 2024, returns on May 8, this time at Escenario 360. Directed by Ramón Santana, this play starring Irving Alberti and Pepe Sierra continues its call for mental health awareness through art, a fundamental theme.
Written by Irving Alberti, the critically acclaimed play not only made an impact in Santo Domingo and Santiago, but also in the United States with two performances in Lawrence, Massachusetts, bringing the message to the diaspora.
“As I said before, with this play I’m trying to talk about mental health as a topic that anyone who needs it can address without problems, that friend or relative who is suffering from a certain situation can feel confident to express themselves without feeling ashamed or without feeling that they will be judged and to do this using art as a bridge, along with great professionals like Pepe and Ramón, is a blessing”, explained Alberti.
Nominated in the categories of Best Direction and Best Actor, for the Soberano 2025 awards, “Desde el mismo vientre”, was staged by Fidel López.
“After these performances I have received testimonies from many people who have communicated through different channels talking about how the play has marked them in different ways; people who were motivated and decided to talk after seeing it, people who had pending issues and decided to face them, the truth is that the message has reached them”, Irving highlighted. Tickets for the play, which is for audiences over 16 years of age, are on sale at Uepa Tickets.
