“Les Sentiers de l’Écriture poétique” is the name of the 30-hour workshop that the Haitian author Lyonel Trouillot is leading from January 18 to 28, 2023, at the Alfred Melon-Degras media library in Saint-Esprit, Martinique. This training is organized by the association Balisaille with the support of the city of Saint-Esprit, the Directorate of Cultural Affairs Martinique and the Territorial Collectivity of Martinique.
The author of numerous novels including “La Belle Amour Humaine” (published by Actes Sud in 2011) and collections of poetry including “Le doux parfum des temps à venir” (Actes Sud, 2013) proposes to the twenty or so people (mostly women) who were lucky enough to register in time for these courses to “explore the places of emergence of poetic writing (real, lived, imaginary), to explore their own places by developing their awareness of the processes, structures and mechanisms of poetic writing : the tools towards a personal relationship between thematic universe and aesthetic proposal”.
Just before this poetic workshop, on January 17, Lyonel Trouillot was the guest of honor of the literary evening “Rencontres pour le lendemain” held in the same media library during which Haitian actress Esther Mompoint read “Médée”, an unpublished monologue by the writer.
