After a break because of the damage caused by hurricane Irma, “Le Prénom”, the multi-award-winning French, play returns this weekend to the Ravelo Hall in the National Theatre in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic). The play will be presented this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The comedy drama is performed by José Roberto Díaz García (Vincent), Gianni Paulino (Elisabeth), Richard Douglas (Pierre), Elizabeth Chahín (Anna), and Pepe Sierra (Claude) under the theatrical direction of Antonio Melenciano.
The play, authored by Alexandre de la Patellière and Matthieu Delaporte, version Fernando Masllorens & Fedérico González Del Pino, focuses on Vincent, a cocky real estate entrepreneur who is going to be a father for the first time and is invited to dine at the Parisian apartment of Elisabeth and Pierre, his sister and brother-in-law, and share with a family friend of doubtful sexuality for others. Meanwhile arrives the pregnant woman, Anna, the baby’s name is revealed which causes intrigues, reproaches, secrets, sarcasms and the laughter of the audience that will enjoy an unprecedented comedy-drama in the country.
Under the production of Atrévete, srl, the audience can see a hyperrealistic staging, in which the details have been taken care so that it sees, it feels and enjoys as if it was in a building in Paris, from where the Eiffel Tower can be seen.
“Choosing a first name for all the life, whether determined by the lives of the saints, by the tastes and preferences of our parents, their religious beliefs, people we admire, artists or important figures in fashion, name of relatives, underlines prejudices, ideologies, culture, intolerance, that we have all our lifes, that’s why the theme of the play is so universal”, explained the producer of the play Gianni Paulino.
The play “Le Prénom”, which means “The First Name” in French received very good reviews and will be presented this weekend from Thursday to Saturday at 8:30 p.m. and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for Sale in Uepa Tickets.
