Dance enthusiasts will be delighted to discover the latest creation starring two talented choreographers and performers: Myriam Soulanges and Marlène Myrthil.
Presented by Kameleonite and Myriam Soulanges Companies, “Tropique du Képone” is a dance piece with Afro-futuristic overtones: “In it, we emphasize the urgency to act and the need to get out of imposed orders to respond to the current worrying situation in the territories of Martinique and Guadeloupe. For us, it’s about projecting ourselves into a victorious future in order to bring to the struggles of the past and our present, through the art of the detour and fugue, a movement of confidence and healing”, they say.
Through this new creation, the two artists “reaffirm their encounter while continuing their research focused on ecological issues in the Caribbean and their profound impact on bodies and imaginations”.
In addition to Marlène Myrtil and Myriam Soulanges (choreography and performance), the artistic team includes Manon Worms (dramaturgy), Bia Kaysel (set and lighting design), Michael Roch (artistic consultant), Yann Cléry (sound and musical composition), Isabela Fernandes Santana (outside view) and Stéphanie Vaillant (costumes).
The show will take place on Tuesday, March 19 at 8:00 pm at the Memorial ACTe in Pointe-à-Pitre; on Friday, March 22 at 9:00 am (schools) and 8:00 pm (general public) at the Centre culturel de Sonis in Les Abymes and on Saturday, March 23 at 8:00 pm at the Centre culturel Robert Loyson in Le Moule.
