The “Villages de la Voix” celebrate World Voice Day

The “Villages de la Voix” (Villages of the Voice) take place from April 14 to 16, 2025 at several sites in Guadeloupe. This event follows on the Vwalibéré Competition organized by the Vwakalité association, around the theme of “Liberated Voice”.
On April 14, the first village will open its doors at the Centre Gérard Lockel in Baie-Mahault. A voice “goldsmith”, an ENT specialist, a speech therapist, a sociologist & anthropologist will speak during a workshop, a round-table discussion and a conference.

On April 15, the second village will take place in the city of Pointe-à-Pitre at Salle George Tarer. A workshop led by Frantz Broussillon, lead singer of Indèstwas, will invite the people to sing the band’s songs. In the town of Pointe-Noire, the socio-cultural centre will host “La Mélodie de la Voix” (Vocal Melody) , led by vocal coach David Francius.

On April 16, in the town of Les Abymes, the third village will host the “Journée Mondiale de la Voix” (World Voice Day) from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with the participation of several representatives of professions using the spoken voice, including singer Tanya Saint-Val and poet Didier Manette.

On the same day at 7:00 pm, the awards ceremony for the “Concours Vwalibéré” (Vwalibéré competition) will take place at the Résidence départementale in the town of Le Gosier.

The Vwakalité association, which organizes “Les Villages de la Voix”, hopes to “raise public awareness about the role of the voice in daily life, the importance of its good use and health, through various activities (…)”. Training courses are also available.

It therefore invites associations, companies, organizations and different structures to “celebrate “World Voice Day” 2025 and every year thereafter, through various types of action at their convenience. As the association is a network of voice coaches, it is at their disposal for any advice”.
